The Steady Strength Behind the Team
The steady strength behind the team
Lakeisha Officer joined Motivate’s New York City team nearly six years ago as a bike mechanic and has since grown into her role as an Assistant Operations Manager for the Field Bike Mechanic Team. Her journey from the ground up has given her invaluable insight into the daily challenges her team faces, shaping a leadership approach that balances operational excellence with genuine care for her people. Lakeisha leads with consistency and calm, creating a supportive environment where her mechanics feel both valued and motivated to excel.
Ask Lakeisha what she loves most about her job, and the answer comes quickly: the employees she works with every day. To her, the team’s spirit can be summed up in one sentence: “No person for themselves.” That mindset is what drives her and what she strives to reinforce.
Lakeisha’s expertise has been recognized company-wide, earning her three invitations to Washington, D.C. to share her knowledge of inventory systems and management. She also took full ownership of improving the tool accountability process, implementing the structure and follow-through needed to support over three hundred employees.

What keeps her motivated is the chance to be there for her team. When someone calls, she answers – whether they need guidance, support, or simply someone who understands the situation.
While many see her as outgoing and confident, Lakeisha considers herself more of an introvert. Her work style reflects that centered energy: consistent and efficient, always aligned with the SOP and always moving the team forward.
Her best advice to anyone new at Motivate? “Never think you know it all; there is always something to learn.” It’s the mindset that helped her grow, and the one she hopes to pass on.
